Scrubbed Up

I’m a big fan of body scrubs and am never without one hanging around in my shower. My pale skin does like to get itself in a tizz and dry out, no matter how much I moisturise or how much attention I pay to it. Scrubbing and buffing not only gently exfoliates away the dead skin cells hanging around getting in the way, but it can also help increase blood circulation. I don’t scrub on a daily basis (or I’d have no skin left to scrub) but I do make it a priority at least three times a week. When I attended the launch of Liz Earle’s new energising body lotion back in December I was given the accompanying body scrub to try too and it’s been in my shower since then…

The formula for this is worth mentioning just because it’s the softest scrub I’ve ever used. Now, you may think that’s a bad thing, but sometimes the scrubs can be so harsh that you need a week to recover and grow your skin back! The Liz Earle scrub contains ground olive stones to buff your skin, housed in a delicate almost shower-gel-esque formula. The potion is a very dark brown/orange colour and even slightly foams up so it’s like a dual-action product… clean and cleanse. You only need a small blob to do each limb because the formula is easily manipulated around your body, unlike a lot of scrubs that have ripped off half your arm before you get to the elbow. This is really a pleasure to use and the scent is so uplifting in the morning that I really do skip out of the shower. At £12.75 it’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for – a delicious, effective, delightful scrub that will keep you going throughout 2011.

Think it's possibly one of the best, if not the best, scrub I've ever tried. Love it.
