One of my favourite fruits, flavours, scents and colours is cherry… it’s not your mainstream strawberry, it doesn’t have the bumps or brightness or raspberry, it’s just right. To my delight one of my colleagues got me an amazing Cherry Blossom gift set from one of my fave brands, L’Occitane, as a birth-mas present. (That’s a mix between birthday and Christmas if you’re wondering.) She clearly knows me well because I was so happy I ripped the box open quicker than Homer Simpson eats a donut. The gift set contained a massive bottle of the Eau de Toilette fragrance and shower gel, a soap, tube of hand cream and a cute bottle of shimmery body lotion.
The fragrance is so delicate and feminine, with just the slight hint of fruitiness. It also contains top notes of freesia and blackcurrant so I can totally understand why it’s a bestseller. I have another fragrance by L’Occitane (Green Tea) and they’re so perfect for the day… they give you a subtle scent without feeling like you’re wearing anything too heavy for the office. The last the majority of the day and come in huge 100ml bottles which are really vintage looking; if you haven’t had a sniff of a L’Occitane fragrance I’d definitely recommend you pop in to one of their stores and give it a whirl. The shower gel comes in the same bottle design, but plastic.
I love the hand creams from L’Occitane anyway, but this one is delicious – lighter and more fragrant than the Shea Butter variant and it really moisturises your hands while being absorbed into the skin really quickly. The shimmer lotion is a light fluid texture which leaves a very subtle glow on your skin… it’s not overly moisturising, more of a cosmetic product. The soap is just a soap so I don’t have much to say about that! I think this was a perfect choice for a gift as I love the scent and love the products and they’ll all see me from Winter into Spring with a skip in my step. This gift set is still available (was £63 now £46) so you can grab one and give yourself a pick-me-up to go with that Spring cleaning.
