LBQ’s Boobie Month

Every October the world turns pink in order to celebrate the strength of the 46,000 women a year that get diagnosed with breast cancer. I would bet my Chanel handbag on the fact that every single one of you know of someone who has been affected by this awful disease. For the last 25 years we have been pinking and pimping things in order to raise essential funds for research, treatment and general support that the many charities offer to these amazing women. So many of our favourite brands support this cause, so throughout October LBQ will be bringing you my top tips that will not only have you looking fabulous, but also helping to support breast cancer charities. It’s win win!

So first up on my list is this fantastic cream from Darphin. Their best selling Intral Soothing Cream has gone pink for the month of October and for every one sold they’ll donate £5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. (The RRP is £36) I’ve been trying this cream for a few weeks and it really is fab. The cream itself is quite thick and creamy, meaning you only need a little blob for it to go a long way. The formula doesn’t contain fragrance, colour or irritants so it’s super soothing on the skin. My face can be really sensitive depending on what I’ve been doing, but it really calms and moisturises without any residue. It also sinks into the skin easily, so you can even wear it under makeup without any problems.

I’ve been using this at night in a thicker layer, as well as in the morning, and it’s made my skin much fresher already. What really did it for me though was that this week I’ve spent a lot of time crying (if you follow me on twitter you’ll know why!) followed by being hauled up with the flu. This meant my eye area was extremely sore and puffy, complemented by a flaky red nose. Normally I can’t stand to put any moisturisers on my skin when either of these things happen, but this moisturiser solved the problems super quick without having me yelp with a stinging nose. Although the price is pretty high and I normally wouldn’t spend this much on a moisturiser, with this you not only get what you pay for but you’re helping raise money for a fab cause.
