Last week Christmas came early at ASOS when I was invited to a special preview of all the exciting products they have to offer in the run-up to the Festive Season. More about that later, but one of the products I picked up to try was Korres lipgloss in #52 Red. This is another new brand for me (I’m on a roll discovering new things lately) but I’m definitely planning to find out more after trying this fab product.
Lipgloss is one of those things that I’m never particularly fussed about. I have so many and they all do the same thing… make your lips shiny for a little while before transferring onto your wine glass/diet coke bottle/cup of tea. I don’t personally see a huge difference between budget buys and premium brands so I’m much more likely to go for a nice pack or a funky shade. The Korres lipgloss doesn’t instantly tick any of my boxes, but once I smelt it (yep, smelt it) my eyes were awakened… it smells of cherries, which just happens to be one of my favourite scents.
The lipgloss itself is a pleasure to apply – not too sticky, not too gloupy, not too drying. It goes on easily and stays around for quite a while before having to apply another coat. What I also like is that the red colour of the gloss actually transfers onto my lips so after the gloss itself has gone it leaves a slight dusting of colour – I’m not sure if this happens with every shade, but the red sure makes it look like I’m wearing lippy. The colour, considering it’s a red, isn’t scary and would probably suit every skin tone or look. I’ve taken to wearing this in the day when I want something more than plain gloss, but less than a full slap of colour.
And the ultimate seal of approval came from my friend’s 3 year old daughter who took to the gloss within about five seconds of me applying it and spent the next three days saying ‘I want lip.’ Me too sweetheart, me too. (This will be available on ASOS from November priced £10.75)
