BaByliss Babes

How many of you look at the pages of heat/look/more/insert-magazine-of-choice and wish you had a personal hairdresser to follow you around creating the lush locks you see on celebrities? How many of you come out of the hairdresser feeling fabulous and wonder what the hell happened to your barnet the day after when it looks like something out of a horror movie? Me too, lovelies, me too. I may have the answer to your hair problems as BaByliss are just about to launch three hair styling products that every girl needs.

I’ve just had my hair cut shorter and the style completely relies on volume. If I don’t style it into that ‘just stepped out of the hairdresser’ look then I end up with flat, rubbish hair that makes me feel like a ten year old. ‘Big Hair’ is going to solve all my problems, basically being a plug-in-the-wall-hairdresser.

“Big Hair gives you hair that’s shiny, sexy and totally fabulous. It’s the bigger, the better when it comes to fashionable hair, and Big Hair will give you that beautiful on-trend look. Use on damp or nearly dry hair and let the large rotating barrel easily create that all-essential volume, while the soft bristles give your hair an amazingly shiny finish.”

Everyone needs a bit of root uplift, but sometimes it’s really hard to do it well so it lasts longer than stepping into the taxi on a night out. ‘Root Boost’ is a really simple, yet incredibly effective idea which will have the most style-phobic of you creating amazing bouffants.

“Inspired by hairdressers, loved by style goddesses, Root Boost is the must-have tool for creating long-lasting lift and volume. By adding texture to the underneath layers of your hair it will add instant fullness to any style.”

When I had longer hair I loved to mess it up, creating natural waves and beachy hair for a night on the town. I always got myself in a tangle, whether I used curling tongs or straighteners, and ended up with more of a bird’s nest than stylish ‘do. The new ‘Waving Wand’ makes this style so easy to achieve, without those ugly bits at the end where you’ve clamped your hair!

“Waving Wand is the perfect way to achieve effortless, natural-looking waves in seconds. There is no clamp, you simply wrap the hair around Waving Wand’s unique oval barrel for wonderful soft, natural-looking waves that last.”

At £45, £30 and £30 respectively these tools are bargainous – you can afford to have every one! (Well, if you sacrifice those shoes.) To celebrate the launch of these three fabulous products I’ve teamed up with BaByliss to give one lucky LBQ reader their very own ‘Big Hair’ styling tool. (I’m jealous, I want it for myself.) All you have to do is follow this blog and comment below with your ‘Big Hair Idol’ – whose hair do you lust after and why? I’ll pick one winner at random and you can come round and do my hair. (Not really. You don’t have to.)

T&Cs – One entry per person. Open to UK residents only. Competition closes at midnight on 10th October. Judges decision is final. Winner must respond within 24hrs of being contacted or another winner will be chosen.

Gemma Arterton, Cheryl Cole or Angelina Jolies hair – I can't decide between but I like them all as they all have beautiful glossy hair, great volume and styles that change seemingly very easily.

Jessica Simpson may be a bit of a ditz, but her hair is undeniably gorgeous! I'd love to have that lovely blonde mane to toss around. I'm delighted to see big hair making a comeback!

My favourite celebrity hair would have to be Beyonce with her big bouncy curls, and Florence's hair (from Florence and the Machine) which I'm afraid isn't too big but her fiery red styles are so different from other celebrities! xx

My hair idol has got to be Taylor Swift. I love the crimped curls she has, which looks so neat and classy, as opposed to the general mass of circular waves that celebs normally go for. xx

For me it HAS to be Danni Minogue, she has short hair but is so versatile with it. Big, Sleek, Wonder if she has one of these already

My Big Hair Idol has to be Cheryl Cole. She's probably the only celebrity whose hair always looks amazing! Every day I wake up and try to make my hair like Cheryl's.I actually met her on Friday and her hair is just as perfect in the flesh. She said she thought my hair was fab but it still isn't anywhere near as bouncy, shiny or full as hers! xxx

I'm a follower, my Big Hair Idol has got to be the classic – Bridget Bardot. Whether her hair is twisted up, in a bouffant, backcombing and pile em high, or let it all down where all the curls have been letting loose. Her hair is always a stunner. If it's modern day, I would love to have Elle MacPherson's easy wave hair.

either Cat Deeley, Cameron Diaz or Drew Barrymore. They always have perfect colour & a lot of ooomph to their style-a-do's. I love big hair but my frizz-ball never ends up how I imagine it will if I 'do' it!
